Adrija Ghosh Receives Institute-Level Excellence in Doctoral Research Award
Dr. Adrija Ghosh, PhD in Chemistry from IIT Roorkee, received the Excellence in Doctoral Research Award at Convocation 2026 on 20 September 2026. Her research focuses on sustainable 3d-metal catalysis using nickel to convert biomass into valuable products, including the synthesis of tamoxifen. The Department of Chemistry congratulates Dr. Ghosh and her supervisor, Prof. Banerjee, on this achievement.
Srivardan Balaji Receives President’s Gold Medal at IIT Roorkee Convocation 2026
Srivardan Balaji, BS-MS in Chemical Sciences, Department of Chemistry, IIT Roorkee, received the President’s Gold Medal at Convocation 2026 for securing the highest CGPA among undergraduate graduates admitted through JEE (Advanced). He also received the Pharma Affiliates Excellence Award and the Best Project Award from the Department of Chemistry. The department congratulates him on these achievements and wishes him success in his professional journey.
Inauguration of Acharya P. C. Ray Auditorium and Departmental Academic Review 2026
The Department of Chemistry, IIT Roorkee, inaugurated the Acharya P. C. Ray Auditorium in the New Chemistry Department Building on 1 September 2026, followed by the Departmental Academic Review on 2 September 2026. The review brought together distinguished experts, faculty, students, and staff to discuss the department’s academic and research priorities. The occasion also marked the launch of the Departmental Academic Review Report and included visits to the department’s newly established laboratories and research facilities, highlighting its continued commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation.
